Brault — 25th
Paula and Brian Brault of Northfield celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Sept. 24, 2013 with a trip to Newport, R.I. The event was followed up with a party in October that also celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary of Paula’s parents, Laurel and Angus “Terry” Dun, at Fellowship Hall in Shelburne, where Paula and Brian had been married in 1988.
There were members of Paula and Brian’s wedding party in attendance: Joan Valiton (Maid of Honor), John Taylor (Usher), Aaron Dun (Usher) and Adreanna (Brault) Nadeau (junior Bridesmaid).
Paula and Brian were honored to have Gordon Taylor sing, “Sunrise Sunset,” at the party as he sang the same song at their wedding. Brian and Paula’s daughter, Sarah, home from Smith College, was in attendance as well as family, friends and coworkers from near and far. Paula’s aunt, Karen Staats was the only guest in attendance that attended both the wedding of Paula and Brian and the wedding of Laurel and Terry.
Paula made the cake for the occasion which consisted of three cakes in all, one done in silver tones, one in gold tones, and one centerpiece cake that included silk flowers in the colors of the respective weddings with inverted wine glasses holding up the tiers of the cake in the same style as Laurel and Terry’s cake. The smaller cakes also included the original bride and groom topper from Paula and Brian’s cake along with a replica of the topper from Laurel and Terry’s cake.
The Feast Committee of the Shelburne Grange catered the event. The Feast Committee had also catered Paula and Brian’s wedding. Sarah Brault put together a slide show of pictures from both weddings and anniversaries, as well as many life events of both families.
Paula is a math teacher and guidance intern at Pioneer Valley Regional School. Brian is the Information Technology Coordinator for Community Action.
