Erving tax share stays same, while rate increases
ERVING — The Board of Selectmen has approved a stable tax burden split between residential and commercial taxpayers.
Town Administrator Thomas Sharp said selectmen approved the rate following a tax classification hearing this week.
The split remains the same as last year, but taxpayers in both categories will pay about 5 percent more.
The tax rate is $8.45 per $1000 of value for residential property, $14.04 for businesses, up from $8.09 and $13.44, respectively.
Sharp said this is a fairly historically consistent increase.
