Ashfield man injured in farm mishap
ASHFIELD — A 31-year-old Ashfield man was seriously injured Monday morning, after heavy farm equipment he was repairing fell on him.
Isaac Clark of Clark Road was rushed to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. A hospital spokeswoman, reached later in the day, said she had no information concerning Clark.
According to Ashfield Police Chief Patrick Droney, Clark was making repairs to the track idler of a bulldozer at about 10:15 when it fell off a table top onto him.
“He had very serious injuries,” said Droney.
Clark was taken to the hospital by Conway Ambulance, assisted by Northampton Fire Department paramedics.
Droney said Clark was working inside a farm building in the Apple Valley section of town. Following protocol, Droney said, the State Police Crime Prevention and Control (CPAC) office was called along with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) to investigate.
