Letter: What’s in a name
Good day Recorder, Please inform the associate that composed the large ad in Thursday’s Recorder (Nov. 28, The Gill-Montague Bridge is now open to two-way traffic) that the proper name for the bridge in Turners Falls is ... The TURNERS FALLS-GILL BRIDGE. It’s a reference point for travelers and properly named will aid them in their destination if they were looking to visit Turners Falls. I realize that The moniker, Gill-Montague Bridge is commonly used but it’s incorrect. The people of Franklin County need to make this distinction. We wouldn’t want to call Greenfield ... Greenburg!
