Letter: Olympic ignorance
With less than three months before the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, the American public is practically oblivious as to who will represent the U.S. in the games due to the lack of television coverage of international and world competition leading up to the Olympics in which our athletes are fine tuning their skills in preparation.
To prove my point, can you tell me who are the U.S. athletes in contention to be on the Nordic Combine team or the bobsled team or how about the curling team, the cross-country ski team, biathlon, luge, hockey, speed skating, half pipe snowboarding and so on and so on?
If you were able to answer these questions correctly, then you either have a cable channel that I don’t have or perhaps you are an agent for the NSA and have phone tapped the Olympic Committee (joking) because other than that you are in the dark like everyone else. There “is” one means by which you can access this information and that is by going online: “The road to Sochi — Youtube.”
