Bulletin Board: Soccer all-star game Tuesday

The WMass Division III and IV Senior Boys’ Soccer All-Star game will take place Tuesday night at 5:30 at Williston-Northampton School in Easthampton.

Here’s a list of the six local boys selected to play in the game:

• Athol High School — Bradley Bousquet and Mike Campos.

• Frontier Regional School — Niko Ames.

• Greenfield High School — Vlad Popusoi.

• Mahar Regional School — Tyler Robideau.

• Turners Falls High School — Dennis Gheorghita.

Hawks fall

Alicia Hancock scored twice Tuesday night but the Frontier Red Hawks dropped an 8-4 decision to Ethan’s Eden in a Under-13 Division girls’ indoor soccer game at Allsport in Northampton.

Marisela Ackerman and Jessica Wrisley each added one goal. Mia Burch had two assists and Grace Wesoloski added one helper.

Sarah Zoly, Ackerman and Marie Diemand combined to stop 19 saves in net.

Flag football

Tech/Pioneer Powder Puff

The Franklin County Technical School vs. Pioneer Valley Regional School Powder Puff football game will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Franklin Tech in Turners Falls.

The game features a flag football contest between girls at both schools and will be played to benefit the teen service agency DIAL/SELF. Cost is $5 per adult and $3 for students or one non-perishable food item per person.

Basketball

Mohawk SL tryouts

Tryouts for the Mohawk Suburban League boys’ basketball teams will take place on Friday at Mohawk.

Tryouts for the grades 4-6 team will begin at 3:45 p.m., while tryouts for the grades 7 & 8 team will begin at 5.

Turners swim coach sought

Turners Falls High School has an immediate opening for a boys’ and girls’ swimming coach. Interested candidates are asked to send a letter of interest with resume to Glenn Doulette, c/o Turners Falls High School, 222 Turnpike Road, Montague, MA 01351.

Mohawk football

Any football alumni from the 1963 Arms Academy team wishing to take part in the pre-game ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the game should contact current Mohawk coach Doug McCloud at 548-6289.

Celtics bus trip

The Northampton Recreation Department still has seats available for its bus trip to see the Boston Celtics take on the Orlando Magic at TD Garden on Feb. 2.

The bus will leave JFK Middle School at 9 a.m. and will return at the conclusion of the game, which starts at 1 p.m. The trip also includes early entrance to the facility to view the pre-game shoot-around.

Greenfield Football Boosters

The Greenfield Football Boosters have a couple of fundraisers scheduled for this week, beginning tonight with “Dining for the Cause” at the 99 Restaurant, and moving to a Saturday-evening Green Wave Powder-Puff Football Game at 6 at Veterans Memorial Field.

The booster club will earn a piece of all meals at the 99 fundraiser, plus will offer a 50/50 raffle at the door as well as a silent auction after supper.

At the Saturday football game, booster-club representatives will accept cash donations or non-perishable food items donated for the Teen-Line Food Pantry.
