YMCA seeks 20 nonmembers for study
GREENFIELD — The YMCA is looking for 20 nonmembers to be part of a five-week exercise study testing strength, cardio, flexibility and interval training.
From today through Dec. 19, participants will be required to attend two group exercise classes per week during the study and fill out two to three surveys.
The two classes participants will test are the Monday and Wednesday 7 to 8 a.m. group active class and the Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. interval training class.
The group active class is for new or infrequent exercisers and incorporates cardio, strength, flexibility and balance. The interval training class is for intermediate-level exercisers and alternates short bursts of higher level cardio with recovery periods.
Participation in the study is free but regular attendance is required. Those who attend at least eight of the 10 classes and fills out the surveys will be given 20 Y-bucks at the end of the study to apply to YMCA classes or membership dues.
