Police investigate high school threat Thursday

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Police Department was investigating a threat at the Greenfield High School on Thursday, but administrators said that the school was safe.

School officials told families in a robocall Thursday morning that the threat had been assessed and that the school would be secure during the day with police present.

Greenfield Police Sgt. Mark Williams said he couldn’t discuss details because the investigation was ongoing.

The Greenfield School Committee met in executive session with Principal Donna Woodcock on Wednesday night to talk about a school security issue.
