Truck gets stuck under Bank Row bridge

GREENFIELD — Traffic was bottled up for a while along Bank Row Monday afternoon after a tractor-trailer became wedged under the railroad bridge.

At 1:41 p.m., a 13-foot, 6-inch tall truck tried to squeeze under the bridge, which has a clearance of 12 feet, 4 inches, according to Greenfield Fire Department Capt. Clark Seaman.

Greenfield police and fire responded. Within 10 minutes, a tow truck arrived to free the tractor-trailer.

Trucks wedging themselves under the overpass is a regular occurrence.
