Mutton, mead and volunteers
MONTAGUE — It takes a village to raise a shire.
The Mutton and Mead Medieval Festival is looking for volunteers to help bring the finishing touches to the festival, from helping to set up the pavilions and decorations before fair day to offering directions and suggestions to patrons during the festivities.
According to organizers, the festival aims to transport patrons to another time where they are given an interactive theatrical experience that is entertaining, enlightening and inspiring, and the festival provides a venue for members of the local and extended community to support and showcase their talents.
The festival runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine, June 22 and 23 at the Millers Falls Rod and Gun Club, 210 Turners Falls Road, Turners Falls.
All volunteers who fulfill the volunteer requirements receive free festival admission, a Mutton and Mead T-shirt and a certificate of appreciation. Fair day volunteers have the option of morning or afternoon shifts.
