Heath elects new selectman

HEATH — Running unopposed for the seat long held by Selectman Thomas S. Lively, Bill Lattrell was elected to the board in Tuesday’s annual election.

The annual election and state primary drew 154 voters out of 506 registered voters — or, about 30 percent of the town’s voting base, in this town of roughly 700 people.

With no one nominated for an open three-year School Committee seat, there were several write-ins but no clear winner as of Tuesday night.

Margo Newton was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Assessors. Robert Bourke has been elected to the one-year constable post.

The following incumbents were re-elected to office. All are for three-year terms, unless otherwise specified: Finance Committee Jeffrey Simmons, Planning Board (five-year term) Douglas Mason, Library Trustee Janis Carr, School Committee (2-year term) Andrew Draxler, and Constable Jeffrey Simmons (one-year term.)
