Warriors contribute at regionals

Three local nordic skiers represented Massachusetts during the Eastern High School Nordic Ski Championships over the weekend in Presque Isle, Maine.

The three skiers are members of the Mohawk Trail Regional High School team and helped Massachusetts finish third in the five-team tournament, which includes multiple styles of cross-country skiing and featured over 100 skiers. Skiers tried out for the team, which narrowed the field down to the top 24 boys and 24 girls from the state.

Vermont finished first in the competition with 14,788 points, just ahead of Maine in second place with 14,319 points. The locals helped Massachusetts take home third with 11,807, while New Hampshire (11,745) and New York (4,810) rounded out the field.

Allison Lull, a sophomore, had the best day of the three with three finishes in the top 75 in the three individual events she competed in.
