Letter: Speaking out
I have written before about the Winslow Wentworth House on J Street here in Turners Falls.
The last time I wrote, it was about the building that houses elders and those with physical or mental disabilities.
It is my understanding that they were told not to talk to anyone about their problems; including an advocate for the handicapped.
Housing held a meeting to set up a time frame for the work to be done. One of the persons in there still needs a new stove, for she has not had a working stove from the beginning of renting there for well over a year now.
I do not know when the program will start but I consider their plight, as well as some of the others, needs to be taken as urgent by the law.
I have been told not to do anything further, but when more than three persons there need help enough to tell me, as an advocate for the handicapped, I cannot just sit on my hands and worry about them.
