Letter: Your choice

A boy was born in a land of plenty. He grew up in a nation that afforded him whatever he needed and wanted. His parents worked hard to make all this possible, and the boy had only to reap the benefits. Why work? All is free for the taking! So he took and took and took. Soon, there was nothing left to take. “Someone must pay for my poverty, said the young man, “it is the fault of my parents and this land that I face a dismal future. If I must die in want, then I will take them with me into Hell.”

A happier story is in order: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. – II Chronicles 7:14 KJV.
