Bernardston caucus set for March 4
Expanded voter signup hours set for Friday
BERNARDSTON — The town will hold a nonpartisan caucus March 4 to select nominees for several positions up for grabs at the April 30 annual town election.
The caucus will be held at 7 p.m. in Town Hall. Those not nominated by the caucus may take out nomination papers from the town clerk. Papers must be returned by March 25, with 25 or more signatures of registered Bernardston voters.
Three-year positions up for election, and their incumbents, are: Selectman, Robert Raymond; town clerk, Judy Knight; a Board of Health seat, David Powers; tax collector, Mona Minor; treasurer, Melanie Lewis; Assessor, Russell Deane; constable, Walter Grover; tree warden, Brad Bordewieck; Warner Fund trustee, Marsha Pratt; two Recreation Commission seats, Eric Boliski and Bradley Curtis; four Cushman Library trustees, Heather Bordeaux, William Field, Susan Tormanen and Beth Watrous; and four Powers Institute trustees, Marvin Shedd, Robert Eddy, D. William Pratt and Greta Shores.
A two-year Board of Health seat, held by Erik Van Natta, and a two-year library trustee position, held by Elaine Morley, are also up for election.
Two one-year library trustee positions, held by Edward Wardell and Nicholas deRuiter, and an open one-year Recreation Commission seat, are up for election as well.
The town clerk will hold extended hours from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Friday for voter registration.
