Letter: When will it stop?

“Watchman, how much longer will the night endure?” This has been the mournful refrain of good people for the 50-60 million victims of abortion since its legalization some 40 years ago.

The legalized killing of children has been “on the books” for two generations and what could possibly stop its momentum when everything that has been said and done (within the framework of the law) continues to be belittled or ignored by our government and half our people?

The only question then remains: What will it take to stop this insanity? The mind quickly turns to thinking that some outside cataclysmic event or a series of cataclysmic events may finally wake our citizens up! And then you answer your own question: No outside intervention will matter because a cataclysm is taking place right before our eyes and we don’t see it for the same reason that we don’t see the evil of abortion.

There still is hop. However, if only hearts of ice would melt just enough to see that the senseless massacre in what should have been the safe haven for small kindergarten children at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., is identical to the killing that takes place every hour in the sanctuary of someone’s mother’s womb.

“Watchman, how much longer will the night endure!”
