Letter: ‘Women’s issues’

Lately, there has been a lot of talk regarding “women’s issues.” Traditionally, women have been caregivers and nurturers of others. We have taught our children that no one has the right to touch or violate our bodies. It is time for women to practice what we preach. Every woman should have the right to make choices about her own body, without political violation, legislation, regulation or speculation.

After years of fighting for equality, we must exercise our right to vote and use our voice. If we don’t use it, we may lose it.

As of today, my body does not have a “Property of U.S. Government” stamp on it. It is up to us all to ensure that it remains so.

Only when women have the same rights (reproductive or otherwise) as men, will there be “liberty and justice for all.”
