Erving post office future topic of Tuesday meeting

ERVING — The Postal Service will hold a meeting at noon on Tuesday in the Erving Post Office to discuss that office’s future.

Town Administrator Thomas Sharp said postal representatives will answer questions, provide additional information on the service’s latest cost-saving effort and share the results of the survey mailed to postal customers earlier this year.

Having backed off a controversial plan to shut small post offices across the country, the USPS has since developed a plan focusing on reducing hours.
