‘Willy Wonka’ opens Saturday at Shea

Sweet tooth, anyone?

Talk about your dark chocolate! It’s “Willy Wonka,” the stage version of Roald Dahl’s deliciously malicious “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” by the Arena Civic Theater, showing Saturdays, Oct. 13 and Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays, Oct. 14 and Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at The Shea Theater in Turners Falls.

The show is directed by Bob DuCharme with musical direction by Amy Roberts-Crawford and choreography by Melenie Reneris, costume design by Karen Hinds and lighting design by Mike Glazier, with Jeanne Miller Stage Manager. The Pioneer Valley-wide cast features Jerry Marcanio as Willy Wonka, Cole Mathewson as Charlie, and John Darrow as Grandpa Joe; and on the kids’ end, Tess Mathewson as Veruca Salt, Stephanie Craven as Violet Beauregarde

The Shea is located at 71 Avenue A, Turners Falls. Tickets: $15 adults, $12 seniors and students, $9 for children 12 years and under.
