Northfield man gets 6-8 years on child rape

NORTHFIELD — A local man was sentenced to six to eight years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to child rape and other charges.

William Kaczor, 31, of 91 Main St., apartment 2, pleaded guilty in Franklin Superior Court to two counts of rape and abuse of a child, and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

He was sentenced Wednesday by Judge Bertha Josephson to serve time at Walpole state prison on one count of child rape. He was given 10 years of probation for the remaining charges.

Kaczor was arrested in July 2013 after the female victim told police that Kaczor had abused her on several occasions from June 18 to July 1.

The victim said the abuse happened at Kaczor’s apartment after watching TV together, she said.

Kaczor will be given credit toward his sentence for 380 days served while awaiting trial.
