HAWLEY — You may join nationally known, award-winning turkey caller and outdoorsman Joe Judd for dinner and a talk on “Hunting, Nature and the Environment” this Sunday at Stump Sprouts Recreation Center, 63 West Hill Road.
The dinner will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the talk to follow at 6 p.m. Suggested donations to this Sons & Daughters of Hawley annual Nature Dinner are $12 per person, with proceeds to benefit restoration of the East Hawley Meetinghouse.
Judd took to hunting in his early teens, while following his father and grandfather through the Northeast woodlands. Over the last 35 years, Judd has hunted everything from Maine moose to Alabama mallards, whitetail deer and even coyote. He has also hunted turkey in 20 states.
Judd is also a selectman and the town clerk of Shelburne.
As a member of the Quaker Boy Game Calls Pro Staff, Judd travels throughout the country producing outdoor videos and instructing at seminars and clinics. Judd also writes a hunting column, “On The Ridge,” and hosts a Shelburne Falls Cable TV show of the same name.
He is also a three-time past chapter president of the Massachusetts National Wild Turkey Federation.
