Letter: Cries for tolerance
The Recorder’s Opinion of Aug. 5 on religious intolerance reminds me of this quote from a televangelist: “I look down on people who look down on people who look down on people.”
The Recorder: “The sad thing is that all of the world’s religions, at their heart, preach codes of conduct that include tolerance.”
Rattlesnakes are quite tolerant, yet are famous for their intolerance. They’ve found that a healthy mixture of both ensures a longer existence. The same goes for religions and republics. When your enemy cries for more tolerance and you acquiesce, you are dead.
