Low water warning issued Conn. River
TURNERS FALLS — The Turners Falls Dam operator warns water levels will be low Tuesday and Thursday on the Connecticut River, from Turners Falls to Vernon, Vt.
According to a release from FirstLight Hydro Generating Company Land Management Administrator Beth Bazler, the company is supporting fellow Connecticut River dam operator TransCanada Hydro Northeast in conducting one of its relicensing studies.
FirstLight’s license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requires that the water between the dams be kept between 176 and 185 feet above sea level as measured at the Turners Falls Dam.
“Over the course of those two days, FirstLight will be holding the Turners Falls impoundment within that range, however, at levels that may make boating difficult in some areas,” Bazler wrote.
