Bulletin Board: Warriors win Heptathlon
Mohawk Trail Regional High School won the final event of the day to claim the team championship in the Western Massachusetts Girls’ Heptathlon Tuesday at Northampton High School.
The Warriors finished with 9,861 points to edge runner-up Frontier, which ended up with 9,609 points.
Kesheal Henderson of Mohawk rallied to win the individual championship with 3,623 points, while Warrior teammate Ashley Pierce ascended to second place with 3,321. Kat Miner of Frontier wound up in third with 3,271, and Sarah Conlisk of Frontier came in fifth (3,237).
Other top finishers included Katherine Conlisk of Frontier in seventh (3,091), Natasha Olanyk of Mohawk in ninth (3,022), Sally Slowinski of Mohawk in 10th (2,917), and Frontier’s Mairead Ferry 11th (2,834).
Matt Ackerman pitched four innings of one-hit relief with six strikeouts to lead Frontier TNT of Deerfield over Frontier, 4-2, in a PVYBL Mickey Mantle Baseball League game Tuesday night at Headmaster’s Field in Old Deerfield.
Kade Gewanter led a balanced attack for TNT with two hits and one RBI. Derek Zewinski also finished with two hits, Seth Gewanter had an RBI double, and Ackerman and Trevor Mankowsky both pitched in with an RBI single.
John Jacques tripled, Austin Rogers collected an RBI single and Tyler Unaitis and Bailey Powers also singled for Frontier.
Eliot Mousseau ripped three hits and recorded the complete-game win on the mound to lead Akey Insurance over Tognarelli Heating & Cooling, 8-3, in a 51/ 2-inning Franklin County Babe Ruth Baseball League game Tuesday night at Beacon Field in Greenfield.
Jordan Loughman and Will LaPlante both added RBI singles for the winners.
Cody Letourneau led the Tognarelli offense with two hits and one RBI. Chris Urgiel tripled, and Caleb Milton and Jonathan LeClair both doubled.
• Elsewhere, Zack Avery tossed five innings of three-hit ball and fanned five as Turners Falls Athletic Club downed St. Kazimerz Society, 10-1, in six innings.
Nate Haselton smacked a three-run double and Colin Cloutier was 2-for-2 and scored twice for TFAC.
MacKinnon Donnelly-Minshall went 2-for-3 and Max Charest singled for St. Kaz.
Greenfield Minor League
Ryan Pulizari clubbed three hits and Derek Lenois struck out four in three innings to earn the win as Tognarelli Heating & Cooling downed Ninety-Nine Restaurant, 9-4, in a four-inning Greenfield Minor League youth baseball game Tuesday night at Lunt Field.
Gillis MacDougall had two hits, and T.J. Thibodeau, Daniel Lenois and Derek Lenois all singled for Tognarelli.
Jake Petrin led 99 by going 3-for-3. Gabriel Zaccheo, Ian Simpson, Matt Lavoine and Jason Andrews all singled.
• Elsewhere, Freedom Credit Union edged Aubuchon Hardware, 4-3.
Dylan Demers pitched three shutout innings and struck out seven for the win. Ryan Demers, Ethan Bross and Matt Houghton all had one hit for Freedom.
Ezra Christi had a triple and Luc Belhumeur and Luke Timberlake singled for Aubuchon.
Brandon Royal double and drove in two runs to lead the Deerfield Royals to a 12-0, three-inning win over Conway in a Frontier Cal Ripken Baseball Minor Division game Tuesday night in Deerfield.
Rohan Edwards fanned eight to earn the win. Quinn Woods and John Solcak each had a single and two RBIs, and Brady Finch, Jake Whitney, Kyle Begos and Brendan Butz all added a single and an RBI for the Royals.
Robby Wood had two hits and Dylan Fisher added a two-run double as Northfield Green bested Erving, 17-3, in a four-inning Tri-County League Minor Division game Tuesday night in Northfield.
Hunter Haughey and Jacob Balzer each chipped in a single in support of winning pitcher Gabe Smith, who fanned seven in three innings.
Levin Prondecki homered and Connor Demers roped a two-run double for Erving.
Sunny Lucas blasted two home runs, a double and drove in five runs to power Beck’s Automotive to a 16-14 win over The Doors in a Greenfield Co-Rec Softball League game Tuesday night at Green River Park.
Uriah Bartlett collected a single, double and triple, Jen Murphy went 3-for-4 and Alan Mailloux singled and homered for the winners.
Jim Bergeron went 3-for-3 and Steve Smith was 3-for-4 with a double.
Also at Green River, Bill Butynski, Erin Fitzgerald and Janet Twyonall had three hits as Main Street Bar & Grille bested Wilkinson Innovative, 19-1, in 41/ 2 innings.

• Elsewhere, Doug Letourneau went 5-for-5 with three doubles as Smitty’s Pub downed Red Door, 13-1, at Greenfield Middle School.
Amber Coburn was 5-for-5 and Derek Zellmann finished 3-for-3 with a double for the winners.

• At Hillside Park, Jocelyn Dennett went 3-for-4 and Mark Kosloski and Pete Bassett homered to help Turners Falls Pizza House beat French King Bowling & Entertainment Center, 9-4.
Ryan Bernard went 4-for-4 with a double and Kelly Trinque was 3-for-3 for French King.
Winning pitcher Stephanie Scoville collected three hits and two RBIs to lead the Northfield Cougars to a 16-12 win over Brattleboro, Vt., in a Tri-County League youth softball game Monday night in Northfield.
Lily Faille added a single, double and two RBIs, and Kensey Gibson contributed a single and an RBI for the Cougars.
Michaela Lawyer led Bratt with two singles, one double and three RBIs.
• Elsewhere, Annie Johnson fanned 15 in the win and Mackenna Whiteman went 3-for-4 as Erving downded Hinsdale Blue, 17-1, in five innings.
Johnson also singled a homered, and Kate Graves, Dylan Burnett and Addison Stacey all went 2-for-3 for Erving.

Rob Ross and John Adams combined on a 31 for low gross in the Monday Night Skins Golf League on Monday at Northfield Golf Course.
Peter Jenkins and Devin Lockley took low net with a 32.
Ross was closest to the pin on both Nos. 6 (20-0) and 7 (7-0).
Thomas Memorial men’s
Chris Varilly fired a 36 for low gross in the Thomas Memorial Men’s Golf League on Monday in Turners Falls.
Chris Bourbeau was closest to the pin on No. 7 (10-0).
Eric Adams leads the league with 45 points.
Mark K Memorial Mixed
Al Holmes, Frank Prondecki, Don Parda and Sue Ruggeri combined on a low net of 59 firs first place in the Mark K Memorial Mixed Golf League on Monday at Oak Ridge Golf in Gill.
Chuck Yetter, Alan Blanchard Sr. Fran O’Neil and Linda Morey were second at 61.
The Monday Night Women’s Golf League at the Country Club of Greenfield held a Peoria Tournament (three random holes are subtracted from the gross score).
Tilly Clark won Division I with a 31, Lori Grover’s 28 was best in Division II and Cindi Freistat had a 36 for Division laurels.
Low gross went to Michele Hazlett (48) in Division I, Tami Gaylor and Sue Luippold (48) in Division II, and Freistat (53) in Division III.
