Letter: Thanks, but NO DOGS!
The Bridge of Flowers committee appreciates the beautiful photograph of the bridge on the front page of the May 20 Recorder. However, dogs are not permitted on the Bridge of Flowers. There are signs, written and graphic, AT BOTH ENTRANCES, asking that no dogs be brought onto the bridge. We know that all dog owners think they have a perfect and well behaved dog, but sometimes when dogs get excited, they walk on the flowers or otherwise water and decorate them! That means that the bridge committee must tell all dog owners that dogs are not permitted on the bridge.
This may be sad for dog owners, but they must admit that some dogs can cause a problem — and so we ask that dog owners help us keep the bridge beautiful by not walking dogs across the bridge.
