Greenfield hydrant flushing schedule

GREENFIELD — The town will be flushing hydrants Monday through Friday of next week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

∎  Monday: Barton Road from Adams Road west to Colrain Road the south to Silver Street.

∎  Tuesday: Silver Street from High Street west to Colrain road then south to Sanderson Street.

∎  Wednesday: Sanderson Street from Parkway west to Colrain Road and then south to Main Street.

∎  Thursday: Main Street from Highland Avenue west to Munson Street then south to Montague City Road.

∎  Friday: Montague city Road from Deerfield Street to Mountain Road then Camp Avenue to Temple Avenue.

If the weather is bad on Monday, flushing will begin on Tuesday and so on.

Tap water may be discolored in the afternoon, so residents should run water to clear up any discoloration before drinking or laundry.

Hydrants are flushed to ensure high-quality drinking water by removing sediment and to exercise the hydrants and make sure they are working well.
