Wind bylaw info Thursday
BUCKLAND — The Planning Board hosts a public information session Thursday at 7 p.m. in Town Hall on a proposed Small Wind Energy Facility Bylaw. The bylaw’s purpose is to provide for responsible development of the town’s wind energy resources. It will set standards for design, placement, construction, monitoring, modification and removal of small wind electricity generating facilities that address public health and safety; minimize impacts on property values and the scenic; natural and historic resources of the town, and provide adequate financial assurances for decommissioning.
Zoning Bylaw changes are also proposed that would prohibit large-scale wind energy facilities in all zoning districts. Copies of this draft bylaw are available at the Town Hall. Residents and town officials are encouraged to attend. For more information call Chairman John Gould at 625-6451.
