Police Logs, May 22-27
Greenfield, May 22
5:01 p.m. — Disturbance on East Cleveland Street where the caller reports a foster child is out of control and is locked in his room and is destroying it; officer requests BHA to the scene; he located the male who had an injury to his right knuckles from punching a wall; he was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center
6:25 p.m. — General disturbance reported on Oak Courts where a female is drunk, and is on the porch of a unit there, and is flashing, and swearing at people; officers responded, and found the female entered her home and slammed the door in the officer’s face upon arrival; she was yelling vulgar statements through the doorway and was highly intoxicated, there was a strong odor of alcohol in the entryway; neighbors were advised to call police if the behavior started up again.
6:38 p.m. — Domestic disturbance on Hope Street where the caller reports he hears screaming and yelling, and a female with a small child and a male were arguing outside; the male was blocking the female’s way and grabbed her by the arm several times; the male has since gone back in the house and the female and child are walking toward Main Street; found to be a verbal between boyfriend and girlfriend; the girlfriend left prior to our arrival.
7:15 p.m. — Reporting person states that a female from a prior call is outside creating a disturbance again; officer reports the female from the prior call exited her apartment and yelled at them again and then re entered her apartment before officers arrived; officer knocked several times on the door, but the woman yelled through the door that she wasn’t coming out or opening the door; two officers remained in the area for some time, and she didn’t come out again in that time.
8:52 p.m. — General disturbance reported at Oak Courts; arrested Brian J. Cummings, 55, of Second Street, Turners Falls, charged with operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, and second charge of operating under the influence of liquor, and for possessing/having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Also arrested Elisa J. Hache, 35, of Oak Courts, Greenfield, charged with open and gross lewdness, disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest.
9:27 p.m. — Malicious destruction of property, reported at Victory House facility on High Street where the caller says a small “X” was scratched into the paint of a vehicle, he is unsure of who is responsible, for there are no cameras in this area; several staff vehicles have been damaged lately.
10:55 p.m. — Report from Baystate Franklin Medical Center that a mental health patient has left without permission; officers located the male on Davis Street and he was cooperative and was transported back to the hospital without incident
Montague, May 22
11:02 a.m. — Great Falls Middle School would like an officer to dispose of marijuana and paraphernalia that was confiscated from an eighth grade student; the student was suspended for 10 days.
11:18 a.m. — Lighting strike on Colrain Road near GCC causing a transformer explosion.
2:43 p.m. — Caller from vicinity of the Franklin County Technical School, on Industrial Boulevard, that a car is over the embankment; citation was issued for failure to use care in starting; vehicle was towed.
2:48 p.m. — Caller from Bridge Street reporting she just returned home to discover items missing from her apartment and states a lot of things were gone through.
9:17 p.m. — Report of a hit-and-run on Avenue A where the caller says a dark four-door sedan just struck a silver Chevy Malibu.
10:34 p.m. — Domestic disturbance on Bridge Street at the People’s Bakery where the caller says there is a male and female yelling in the driveway; two people arrested following investigation, and a Taser was used on the male; arrested James Wickline, 51, of Bridge Street, Millers Falls, charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; bail set at $500 plus fee. Also arrested Shammah Sabra White, 27, of Maple Street, Greenfield, charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct; bail set at personal recognizance and the fee.
Greenfield, May 23
12:16 a.m. — Officers on Forbes Court arrested Denzell C. Cameron, 22, of Springfield, on a warrant.
1:39 a.m. — Traffic stop on Silver St., vehicle came to abrupt stop in roadway then swerved and almost hit curb. Driver unfamiliar with area, having difficulty seeing the road due to rain. Same given directions to Wormtown festival, Camp Kee-wanee.
7:18 a.m. — Caller from the Baystate Franklin Medical Center where a nurse requests aid with a male in the ER; officers assisted.
9:01 a.m. — Two-vehicle accident, Conway and Allen streets, no injuries reported.
10:08 a.m. — Subject requested to speak with me regarding a restraining order hearing he was going to in court right now. Stated he was scared to speak in open court because he had info that was bad for the governor and president. He was given some options.
11:10 a.m. — Accident, Wells and Allen streets. No injuries, citation issued.
8:20 p.m. — Disturbance, Gandara Center, 107 Conway St. Secured out-of-control juvenile who was on the roof. Transported to hospital under Section 12 mental health evaluation.
10:04 p.m. — Traffic stop, Leyden Road. Citation issued for speed, verbal warning for Class D and minor in possession. Same seized to be destroyed.
10:34 p.m. — Suspicious vehicle, Murphy Park, Leyden Road. Tyler J. Carlo, 18, arrested on a warrant and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, unlicensed operation.
