“Be Free”

We battle, breed.

He fans over me.

The lessons I learn from the books I read,

He kills them.

I’m flummoxed.

His yellow teeth drag against an apple.

I kicked him out like a stray two years ago.

But the scars inflicted are permanent,

The revenge is anything but inevitable.
