Letter: Quick thinking

In regard to the Kinder Morgan gas pipeline taking a proposed cut through Franklin County and specifically through the Town of Montague: The Turners Falls water commissioners will allow the pipeline to “access their property near Lake Pleasant” (Recorder, April 4). This is a water supply protection district and a major aquifer at the Montague Plains area which is a water supply for the Turners Falls Water District Well, along with the fish hatchery water supply. After all, they were assured by the state Department of Environmental Affairs that “there would be ‘no risk’ from a gas pipeline.” I do believe with the water commissioners decision that common sense took an extremely quick trip through their office ... Ya think?
