Voter registration deadlines are approaching for West County residents who want to cast a ballots in annual town elections and town meetings scheduled for early May.

Shelburne Town Clerk Beverly Neeley will hold a special voter registration session on Wednesday so that residents can register in time for the May 6 annual town meeting and for the May 19 annual town elections. Her hours Wednesday will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. in Memorial Hall on Bridge Street. More more information, call 625-0300, ext. 3.

In Buckland, the annual town election will be May 5 , from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Town Hall. A special voter registration will be held on April 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. in the town clerk’s office.

For those who qualify, absentee ballots will be available starting Monday. Contact Buckland Town Clerk Janice Purington at 625-8572 to make arrangements.

Ashfield voters go to the polls on May 3, the same day as the annual town meeting. Absentee ballots for that election are now available from Town Clerk Ann Dunne, 628-4441, ext. 5.

Colrain Town Clerk Robin Hartnett will hold two voter registrations this week: Tuesday will be the last day for voters to register in time for the town’s May 5 election and Wednesday will be the final day to register to vote in the town’s annual town meeting on May 6. Voter registration hours both days will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Absentee ballots will be available for those eligible from Wednesday until May 1.
