Meeting on vacant property ordinance moved to April 15
GREENFIELD — A Town Council committee has postponed its meeting tonight to discuss a proposed ordinance that would require all property owners to maintain their properties, at least to the point where they don’t abandon them and let them slip into disrepair.
Instead, the Economic Development Committee will continue the discussion on April 15 at 6:30 p.m. in 20 Sanderson St.
In March, the EDC held a public hearing on the matter and heard from three people. Two liked the idea of a strict ordinance — the town doesn’t have a vacant property ordinance — and one said he believes it would infringe on property owners’ rights.
