Northfield F.D. gets grant for fire prevention

NORTHFIELD — The town Fire Department has received a grant that will help with fire prevention and training programs.

Insurance company FM Global presented Fire Chief Floyd “Skip” Dunnell with a check for $2,410 to be used for fire prevention purposes.

“We will use it for a laptop computer and an overhead projector,” said Dunnell. “We can use these for training as well as fire prevention programs at the school, the fire station and senior center.”

Dunnell said prevention programs may be a simple as computer slide shows, while trainings can include such high-tech methods as GPS tracking.
