GREENFIELD — A river search by boat and helicopter found nothing on Thursday.
Greenfield police Detective Lt. Daniel McCarthy said searchers were looking for Rebecca Streeter and a man who reportedly jumped from the French King Bridge some time ago.
No specifics were available on the second incident Thursday night. Officer James LaFlamme of the Erving Police Department said a man is missing and his car and keys were found by the bridge about two months ago, although no one saw him jump. LaFlamme said the case was referred to the State Police detective’s unit attached to the Northwestern District Attorney’s office.
Further information could not be obtained on deadline.
Streeter has been missing since Feb. 25. Greenfield has been waiting on State Police resources. A helicopter joined the search Thursday.
“We’ve got nothing to indicate that she went in the water or that she had suicidal intentions, but her residence abuts the river,” McCarthy said.
Greenfield Fire Capt. Andrew Garvin said Greenfield, Turners Falls and other departments participated in the search, with two boats in the water and the helicopter in the air from the area of Camp Ave on the Deerfield River to the confluence with the Connecticut River.
Anyone with information on Streeter’s whereabouts is asked to call the Greenfield Police Department at 413-773-5411.
