Frontier to hold public hearing on proposed budget

SOUTH DEERFIELD — The Frontier Regional School Committee is holding a public hearing on its draft $9,747,730 budget for next year.

The public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Frontier media center.

The school committee has proposed spending $282,037 more for next year’s school budget, which is a 2.98 percent increase over the current year.

The amount each of its four feeder towns would pay would also increase.

Conway’s assessment would increase by $45,689, or 4.53 percent. Deerfield’s share would increase by $192,363, or 6.25 percent. Sunderland’s share would increase by $152,362, or 9.36 percent and Whately by $17,223, or 1.99 percent.

Water district annual meeting set for April 30

SOUTH DEERFIELD — Residents of the South Deerfield Water Supply District, who wish to submit warrant articles for the annual district meeting on April 30, must do so by Monday. Articles can be sent or brought to the Route 116 district office or mailed to P.O. Box 51, South Deerfield, MA 01373.

SOUTH DEERFIELD — Residents of South Deerfield Water Supply District who are interested in running for the one-year district position for clerk, moderator or a three-year position on the Board of Water Commissioners should notify in writing: District Clerk Nancy A. Zabka, P.O. Box 51, South Deerfield, MA, 01373 by April 16, 2014.
