Lake Pleasant man held on attempted murder charge

Rescheduled from Tuesday night

GREENFIELD — A Lake Pleasant man accused of attempted murder was ordered held in Greenfield District Court Wednesday.

Domenic G. O’Connor, 32, of 30 Massasoiat Road, faces charges of attempted murder, domestic assault and battery, and intimidating a witness, following a Feb. 13 incident at his home.

Detective Brian Dobosz met with O’Connor’s ex-girlfriend while she recouperated at Baystate Franklin Medical Center Friday. In his report, Dobosz wrote that the alleged victim had two black eyes, and her glasses had been broken in half.

The victim told Dobosz that she had been staying at O’Connor’s house and that her ex-boyfriend became “enraged to a point she’d never seen before” after she told him at about 1 a.m. that she’d become involved with another man, according to the report.

She said O’Connor struck her several times in the back of the head and face with a closed fist, before he began to choke her with both hands, Dobosz wrote.

When she tried to call for help, O’Connor took her cell phone and refused to give it back, according to the report.

Following a dangerousness hearing, O’Connor was ordered held until his next court date, scheduled for Monday.
