Letter: Apology should be offered
Shame on The Recorder for calling for the silence of a concerned citizen — in this case Al Norman, but it could have been any of us. That suggestion by the Editorial Board is an affront to free speech and a violation of their responsibility to foster an engaged and informed citizenry. Citizen engagement is the back bone of democracy and should never be discouraged. More voices, not fewer, should be heard. I think the board owes Al and all concerned citizens an apology.
