Dog licenses now available in Orange

ORANGE — Dog licenses for 2014 are now available at the town clerk’s office. All dogs, 6 months or older, must be licensed by March 31. The rates for dog licenses are male and female, $20; neutered and spayed, $10. Proof of neutering or spaying along with proof of valid rabies shot must be presented at the time of licensing. Licenses may also be obtained online by visiting the town’s web site: Failure to license before March 31 will result in a $50 late fee per dog.

Office hours are: Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed 12:30 to 1 p.m., for lunch. Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you no longer have your dog, let the town clerk know by calling 978-544-1100, ext. 101.

Orange recycling center closed today

ORANGE — The Town of Orange Recycling Center/Transfer Station will be closed today in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

It will be open on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Warwick Democrats to pick convention delegates on Feb. 8

WARWICK — Democrats in town will hold a caucus to elect delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s 2013 Convention on Feb. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the Warwick Public Library, 4 Hotel Road. All registered Democrats in Warwick are eligible to participate.

Delegates to the 2014 Massachusetts Democratic Party convention will vote endorse candidates for statewide office. The convention will be held on June 13 and, June 14 in Worcester.

The Warwick Democratic Caucus will elect one delegate and one alternate to the convention. Those not elected as delegate and/or alternate, who meet the qualifications, may apply to be add-on delegates in the following categories: youth, minority and disabled.
