Letter: Petty remarks
Regarding Mr. Grant’s letter on the Nelson Mandela memorial service, can we please stop the nastiness and constant backbiting going on in this country?
If Mr. Grant read the story by the photographer who took the picture of President Obama, Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmott and British Prime Minister David Cameron posing for a cell phone photo, he would have found that the photo was taken two hours into the memorial service when everyone was singing and dancing and celebrating Mr. Mandela’s life. There was no disrespect and the Danish Prime Minister initiated the photo on her cell phone.
I suppose Mr. Grant thinks the impromptu neck rub that President George W. Bush gave to German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the G8 summit in 2006 was a totally classy move. The chancellor looked like she could not believe that he had put his hands on her.
None of us is perfect and I’m sick of reading the constant petty remarks.
