Letter: Plastic bag recycling
This note is for the big article in the paper about plastic bags. Stop & Shop on French King Highway has been recycling plastic bags for years. They have big plastic containers for folks to put their bags of bags into at both doorways. So I am thinking if Stop & Shop can do it, why can’t other stores and the town do it? If you don’t know how, I am sure the person in charge of recycling bags would be glad to tell you.
I have noticed if you forget and put a paper bag full of a recyclable out to the curb with a plastic bag on it, it will be removed and thrown on the ground, so you go pick it up and take it and your other plastic bags to Stop & Shop. I also take the plastic that comes in my packages. Why fill the dump when someone can make something useful out of it? There is always a solution somewhere, you just need to look for it. And those of us who know of a solution can pass it on.
