Creating PDF Files:
Most major document layout applications such as Quark Xpress, InDesign and Pagemaker come with the ability to export your documents directly to a PDF. Whenever you create a PDF for press it is extremely important, in any case, to be certain of what Job Options are being applied when you create them.
Our suggested Acrobat Distiller job options are listed below. If you are not able to edit or add a custom set of job options to use please use the "Press" or "Press Optomized" settings that come as one of the default sets in your Job Options palette (for Acrobat 4.0 or newer). Your options and screens you see may be slightly different from what you see here depending on what version and platform you are running.
IMPORTANT NOTES: If you submit an ad as a PDF that has "Security", "Encryption" or "Fonts not Embedded" it will be returned to you. All files submitted to The Recorder must have the correct file extension (ie .pdf).
