Greenfield, Sept. 27, Judge William Mazanec III

Frank J. Christiana, 20, of Southern Avenue, Greenfield. Admitted to sufficient facts for assault and battery on family/household member in Whately. Sentenced to 18 months in the house of correction, six months direct, balance suspended, placed on probation until 3/26/19. Admitted to sufficient facts for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit, a cell phone. Sufficient facts found, but continued without a finding until 3/26/19, with victim-witness assessment of $90. Conditions on both offenses are, that the defendant must take and complete the certified batterer’s intervention program, to begin at Franklin County House of Correction. Must abide by any 209A restraining order in existence. Must have no abuse of the victim, must stay 300 yards and away from and have no contact with a named person. Must have no alcohol and subject to screens/testing. Must have mental health evaluation, and take any after-care recommended.

Eric R. Bastrache, 25, of N Street, Turners Falls. Admitted to sufficient facts for operating under the influence of liquor or 0.08 percent in Greenfield. Sufficient facts found, but continued without a finding until 9/26/18, with 45 days mandatory loss of license, plus OUI fee of $250, OUI victims assessment of $50, head-injury assessment of $250, and victim-witness assessment of $50. Must take and complete the driver alcohol education program, and pay the fee of $726.80. Found not responsible for possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation. Charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle dismissed on request of the Commonwealth. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150 and $150 legal counsel contribution. Must pay probation supervision fee of $65 per month.

Amy Crouse, 39, of Summer Street, Shelburne Falls. Admitted to sufficient facts for resisting arrest in Buckland. Sufficient facts found, but continued without a finding until 9/26/18, with victim-witness assessment of $50, must take and complete a substance abuse evaluation, and take any after-care treatment recommended, and must have no alcohol and subject to screens/testing. Charges of disorderly conduct, and two charges of assault and battery on a police officer were dismissed on request of the Commonwealth. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150. Must pay probation supervision fee of $65 per month.

Arthur McCowan, 29, of Springfield. Pleaded innocent to unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, obstructing a stationary emergency vehicle, open container of marijuana in a vehicle and speeding in Deerfield by state police. Released on personal recognizance. Continued to 12/28/17 for pretrial conference.

Greenfield, Sept. 27, Judge Maureen Walsh

Jonathan L. Sullivan, 38, of Summer Street, Greenfield. Admitted to sufficient facts for possessing a Class A drug, to wit, heroin. Placed on probation until 9/27/18, with victim-witness assessment of $50. Must have no drugs or alcohol, and subject to screens/tests. Must continue with current treatment, and must sign releases so that the probation office can monitor attendance at programs ordered by the judge. Charges of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended, subsequent offense, and operating under the influence of drugs, were not prosecuted, as, according to a statement made by a counsel from the district attorney’s office, after reviewing all of the evidence, the commonwealth couldn’t prove a necessary element, operating beyond a reasonable doubt, and as a result, this is in the interests of justice. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150. Must pay $50 per month probation supervision fee.

James A. Despres, 59, of Fitzwilliam N.H. Charge of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended in Bernardston by state police. Was not prosecuted, as, according to a statement made by a counsel from the district attorney’s office, that, the defendant is deceased.

Greenfield, Sept. 28, Judge William Mazanec III

Michael G. Richcotte, 51, of Worcester Avenue, Turners Falls. Pleaded innocent to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit, a DVD player. Released on personal recognizance. A C276, section 56A form was filed by the Commonwealth An allegation of abuse under 276, section 56A, was found. Continued to 10/30/17 for pretrial conference. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Elijah T. McLendon, 19, of Worcester. Charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in Bernardston. To be dismissed on payment of $100 court costs.

Jeanelle Santiago, 33, of Springfield. Pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of property damage in Greenfield. Fined $150 with $50 surfine, and a 60-day loss of license. Charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle dismissed on request of the Commonwealth. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Christopher Hannum, 38, of North Street, Whately. Pleaded innocent to assault and battery on family/household member in Whately by state police. Released on personal recognizance. Continued to 11/9/17 for pretrial conference.

Alexander Petroulas, 21, listed as homeless, of Turners Falls. Pleaded innocent to violation of an abuse prevention order. Bail set at $50 continued to 10/30/17 for pretrial conference.
