Eric Merrifield, 20, of Wilson Avenue, Athol. Fund guilty of shoplifting, at the Orange General Store, fined $40, plus $10 surfine.

Margaret Starkweather, 54, of Amherst. Pleaded innocent to assault and battery on a person 60 or over or disabled, with injury, in Leverett, released on personal recognizance, continued to 10/28/16 for pretrial conference. Must pay counsel fee of $150, or perform 16 hours of community service.

Must take and complete the driver alcohol education program and pay the fee of $707.76. Found not responsible for marked lanes violation, and failure to stop/yield.

Dean K. Miller, 52, of Prospect Street, Orange. Found responsible for having a motor vehicle that isn’t meeting Registry of Motor Vehicles safety standards, in Greenfield by state police, fined $20. Charge of dumping trash from a motor vehicle containing more than seven cubic feet of substance, dismissed on request of the Commonwealth.

Chauntel A. Spillane, 27, of West Springfield. Charges of operating with suspended registration, and uninsured motor vehicle, in Whately by state police, both dismissed prior to arraignment.

Alyssa Collins, 27, of Fitchburg. Pleaded innocent to possessing a Class A drug, to wit, heroin possessing a Class B drug, to wit, cocaine, intimidating a witness, juror, police, or court official, and for knowingly and willfully furnishing a false name or Social Security number to a law enforcement officer, in Athol, bail set at $3,000 cash or $30,000 surety, advised of right to bail review, continued to 10/11/16 for pretrial conference. Taylor S. Lacoss, 27, of Winchendon. Pleaded guilty to hunting or fishing without a license, in Orange by Environmental Police, fined $100, plus $20 surfine. Charges of hunting or fishing in closed season, and possessing a firearm without a firearms identification card, were both dismissed on request of the Commonwealth. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Admitted to sufficient facts for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, in Erving, but continued without a finding until 3/13/17, with head-injury assessment of $250, and must take and complete the safe driver education program. Must pay $50 per month probation supervision fee for six-months. Charge of failure to stop for police, dismissed on request of the Commonwealth. Found not responsible for marked lanes violation, speeding, failure to keep to the right on a hill or obstructed view, no inspection sticker, and improper operation of a motor vehicle.
