Michael A. Putala, 29, of L Street, Turners Falls. Pleaded innocent to assault and battery on family/household member, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit, personal weapons, hands/feet/etc. Released on personal recognizance. Must undergo mental health evaluation and take any treatment recommended at the VA facility, must have no abuse, and must vacate marital home, but he may get his belongings, with police along. Continued to 2/8/18 for pretrial conference. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

John D. Wait Jr., 55, of Huckle Hill Road, Bernardston. Pleaded innocent to operating under the influence of liquor or 0.08 percent, second offense, operating a motor vehicle with license suspended, and motor vehicle lights violation in Greenfield. Released on personal recognizance. Continued to 2/8/18 protective custody. Must pay legal counsel fee of $150.

Javier Rivera, 42, of Bouker Street, Greenfield. Pleaded innocent to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit, a knife/cutting instrument, possessing a Class B drug, to wit, cocaine, assault and battery on family/household member, and malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Following a hearing of dangerousness, the defendant was ordered held as a dangerous person. Continued to 1/24/18 for pretrial conference.

Chelsea M. Connors, 21, of Main Street, Charlemont. Placed on pretrial probation until 12/26/18, for possessing a Class A drug, to wit, heroin, and must have no drugs, and subject to screens. Placed on pretrial probation until the same 12/26/18 for possessing a Class A drug, to wit, tramadol, and must take and complete a substance abuse evaluation, and take any after-care treatment recommended, and must sign releases so that the probation office can monitor attendance at programs ordered by the judge. Must pay counsel fee of $150, or perform 16 hours of community service. Must Pay $50 default warrant fee.

Shantel R. Hayes, 24, listed as homeless, of Turners Fall. Pleaded innocent to larceny under $250, breaking into a depository, and possessing a burglarious instrument in Greenfield, at the New Inkwell. Released on personal recognizance.
