Summary: This workshop looks at selected picture books, including Where the Wild Things Are and The Snowy Day, that have been recognized as the "most distinguished" of their time. As we savor their details we will think critically about how each book has influenced culture and history and discuss the new perspectives each continues to bring to the field of children's literature, and to readers.
