ARTISTS AND CRAFTERS, FOOD VENDORS. For craft shows in Greenfield. Sept. 28 at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Greenfield and Nov. 16 at Greenfield High School. These shows will benefit the Area Survival Center’s food pantry as we will be asking attendees to donate one or two nonperishable food items as their admission fee. GREEN RIVER HOUSE AND QUABBIN HOUSE, programs of Clinical and Support Options, will be hosting its fourth annual Art and Music Festival at Energy Park in Greenfield. This year’s theme is “Feel the Art Beat.” We are looking for talented artists and crafters to vend their creative works. The event is Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with live musical acts all day. There are no vendor fees for this event. The fair is open to all ages and media. People who receive mental health services are encouraged to apply. THE SAW MILL RIVER ARTS GALLERY is seeking new members and is hosting an informational meeting for interested artists on Aug. 12 from 6 to 7 p.m. and on Monday, Sept. 9 from 6 to 7 p.m. This will give artists the chance to view the gallery and see how it operates. CROSSWALK DESIGN. RiverCulture in Turners Falls announces a call for proposals for an artistic crosswalk to be designed and installed on First Street from Unity Park playground to the bike path. Deadline to submit Aug. 7. Award: $1,750.

PIONEER VALLEY TRANSITION TOWNS Film Festival will be Oct. 25 at Greenfield Community College. Film submission deadline is Sept. 27. Two DVDs should be mailed to PVTTF, in care of GCTV, P.O. ASHFIELD FILMFEST. The Ashfield FilmFest Committee invites people from all over to submit a short film for the seventh annual festival, held at the Ashfield Town Hall on Sept. 21. EVENTIDE SINGERS is holding auditions over the summer. The Eventide hospice a cappella choir sings songs of comfort, hope and healing at the bedside of the ill, homebound, sick and dying. Prerequisite: Ability to sing (SATB) on pitch; sight reading is helpful though not necessary. Rehearsals are 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. the first, third and fifth Sundays of the month at the First Congregational Church in Greenfield.
