NORTHFIELD — A former Selectboard member may throw his hat into the ring as his replacement’s term draws to a close this year.
“I don’t know if the town’s headed in the right direction, and I think I can help make things a little more productive,” said John “Jack” Spanbauer, who served on the Selectboard for 10 years.
Spanbauer stepped down from the board in October 2010, halfway through his fourth term, while dealing with numerous illnesses in the family. Bonnie L’Etoile won a special election to take his place last January. Her term expires this spring. It’s not clear whether she intends to seek re-election.
