In what seemed like a whirlwind tour, Congressman Richard Neal made his rounds Thursday as he positioned himself to assume representation of several towns in Franklin County following a recent congressional redistricting.
“These are spectacular areas for passive and active recreation, and I have always thought the people were welcoming,” said Neal during his tour that included Charlemont and Shelburne Falls.
Following the redistricting, Neal has become the likely candidate to assume the representation of much of Franklin County following the elections this November.
Neal has served as the representative for Massachusetts’ second congregational district since 1989. His new district will include western Franklin County, parts of Hampden County, parts of Berkshire County, Hampshire County and a small part of Worcester County.
