Judge OKs demolition of three Colrain buildings

COLRAIN — A Massachusetts Housing Court justice has given the town’s Board of Health the right to demolish three decrepit buildings that have been condemned since the early 1990s.
On Friday, Judge Robert Fields ruled on the board’s request to raze two boarded-up buildings in the town center — the “Tin Shop” on Main Road, the “Truck Stop” on Jacksonville Road — and a single-family home at 3 Church St.
All three properties are owned by Paul Giard of Colrain, who was given 10 days by the court to notify any mortgage-holders who might have an interest in the properties.
