For Regina Sherman, the generosity of Warm the Children brought her to tears.
“I was just flabbergasted,” said Sherman. “Everyone was so giving and so loving. I’ve never experienced anything like that before.”
The Recorder’s annual Warm the Children winter clothing drive has provided warm clothing for children and families in need throughout Franklin County for nearly 20 years. This year, more than 1,000 children received a full set of winter clothes, including warm socks, pajamas, underwear, sweatpants, shirts, a coat, snow pants, a hat and a scarf.
The clothing was distributed in October so every child would be warm through the winter season.
Thanks to the drive, Sherman’s 13-year-old son Samuel will be sporting a new coat and set of clothes on the playground this year.
